*J-Jodie.” Carla fumbled with the strap of her handbag as she stood before Jodie in the cafe. She was too nervous to even look Jodie in the eye. She was terrified when she first received Jodie’s call earlier that day-she was worried that Jodie wanted to get even with her. Jodie was a calculative and unforgiving woman. She was known for being heartless and cruel in her attempts at revenge.

“Come here. Have some coffee.” To Carla’s surprise, Jodie was not her usual petty self. Instead, she seemed much more generous and welcoming. This only made Carla more fearful than ever. “I-I’m not thirsty. I-I’m sorry. I made a mistake, Jodie. Please…. I hope you don’t hold a grudge against me.” Carla was paralyzed with fear.
