Lettie tried to asked Jessie what had happened. However, when she saw her daughters pale face, she bit her lower lip and said nothing.

Though she desired to return to Duefron with Jessie, Lettie couldnt get her to agree to this.

On her part, Jessie was afraid that if she allowed Lettie to return with her, Lettie would spend every day worrying about her and that might cause Letties old illness to return. After refusing her, Jessie assured Lettie that she would contact her as soon as everything was resolved.

Though Lettie didnt like Jessies stance, she finally agreed to stay behind.

That night, Jessie caught the night train back to Duefron. When she arrived, she got off the train, got into a taxi, and directed it to take her to the hospital. As the taxi pulled away from the train station, the driver switched on the radio and began to listen to the social news.

Reports reaching us now is that Albert Waston, the president of Waston Group, is now out of mortal danger and will survive his injuries. However, his daughter is suffering acutely from post- traumatic stress disorder due to the kidnapping and is now receiving psychological treatment.

The taxi driver shook his head slowly, sighed heavily, and softly said, Rich people might look content from the outside, but they are far from being happy at all. They kidnapped that kid for ransom.

Anyway, thank God she didnt lose her life.
