As Thomas’ phone screen unlocked, his conversation with Madeline was the first thing to pop up. Noah quickly glanced through Madeline’s messages.

Noah gave it all but a moment’s thought before sending Madeline his live location. He waited eagerly for her reply, but there was nothing but silence from her after a few long minutes. Noah put the phone back into Thomas’ pocket and stared at the ceiling in frustration.

As these thoughts began to fill Noah’s mind, the door to the office suddenly flung open. He could recognize those footsteps any day. He quickly shut his eyes, pretending to be asleep as Madeline walked into the office.
