Alpha Bran had quickly learned not to underestimate me. He hadn’t expected my speed, having to push himself to land the easiest of blows.

He had never told me the truth about his past, but Grandma gave me some hints. Chris had been one of the best warriors to exist, becoming Beta to his closest friend at one point.
