Adam was as confused about things as Ann was.

Whatever it was, Adam knew that he had gone too far. He had meant for it to be a little rough, perhaps a little brutal too because she loved it when it was rough, but he was genuinely worried that the sudden emergence of his wolf and the brutality in which he took her was too much, even for Ann.
