Chapter 104 - Why do I feel like you actually like her?

Voren dragged the two unconscious men far beyond the reach of the club’s lights and noise, pulling them deeper into the quiet grove where thick trees swallowed the sounds of the city and the darkness grew heavy enough that no one wandering nearby would ever notice what was happening among the shadows.

When he finally found two sturdy trunks standing several feet apart, he forced each man upright against the rough bark and bound their bodies tightly with rope, securing their wrists and chests so firmly that even the strongest struggle would only tighten the restraints rather than loosen them.

Once he was satisfied that neither of them could break free, Voren walked away without saying a word, leaving their limp bodies hanging against the trees while the night wind stirred the leaves above them.

Several minutes passed before he returned, his hands carrying several objects that gleamed faintly under the dim moonlight filtering through the branches. A bottle of strong alcohol rested in one hand while a whip hung loosely from his fingers, and the unmistakable weight of a gun rested at his waist while a long sword glinted coldly in the darkness.

Without hesitation, Voren twisted the cap off the bottle and lifted it to his mouth, swallowing several deep gulps as the burning liquid slid down his throat, and then he tilted the bottle forward and poured the remaining alcohol directly over the faces of the two unconscious men tied to the trees.

The strong scent filled the grove instantly.

Riven and Gray jolted awake almost immediately, coughing and gasping as the liquid splashed across their skin and soaked their clothes, their instincts screaming danger before their minds even caught up with what was happening.

It took only a moment for them to realize they could not move.

"Voren, what the fuck?" Gray shouted angrily as he struggled against the ropes binding him to the tree, only to feel the restraints tighten painfully around his wrists and chest with every attempt to break free.

Blood dripped slowly down the side of his face from the earlier blow Voren had delivered when the bottle smashed against his head, leaving a dark trail along his jaw.
