Chapter 221 – Now that you’ve seen my wolf

By the time Daisy caught wind of the whispers spreading through the pack, her curiosity and irritation had already taken hold, pushing her to head in the same direction Seraphine had gone, her steps quick and purposeful as she followed the faint trail into the woods.

It didn’t take long for her to realize Seraphine wasn’t anywhere in sight, and the stillness around her told her everything she needed to know. She had come out here for a run.

Daisy paused, her eyes sweeping left and right, her senses stretching outward cautiously, making sure no one was close enough to witness what she was about to do, because unlike the others, she had far more to hide.

Once she was certain she was alone, she shifted into her wolf form.

During training sessions, she had always found excuses, feigning illness or weakness just to avoid revealing it, because Fenrir wolves were not something the pack welcomed with open arms.

They were the result of curses, and Daisy got hers from a sin she kept running away from. However, her wolf was proof of it.

She had only just begun to move when everything went wrong.

Out of nowhere, a white gifted wolf appeared, its presence overwhelming, its movements swift and relentless as it chased her down with a force that left no room for escape.

Panic surged through Daisy as she tried to break away, her instincts screaming at her to flee, but the gap between them closed too quickly, and before she could even shift to her human form, she was caught.

Helplessness gripped her, sharp and suffocating, until the white wolf suddenly withdrew, the attack halting as it shifted back into human form.

Relief came first, then shock. Because standing before her was the last person she had expected.
