Chapter 338: Humphrey and Kylie knows something

After leaving Leon’s office, Voren headed straight for his helicopter. The conversation with the doctor had eased some of his worries. At least now DNA tests were in motion, making it a lot harder for anyone to mess with the results.

But his mind wasn’t really on the tests. It kept drifting back to Seraphine, to the memories she’d lost, and to all the years they’d been robbed of.

As the helicopter lifted into the air, Voren stared out the window, replaying every recent revelation. The more the pieces fell into place, the heavier the guilt weighed on him.

For years he had blamed Seraphine. He’d convinced himself she’d abandoned him, that she’d chosen Ravyn willingly, and that she’d simply forgotten everything they once shared.

Now it looked like someone might have stolen those memories from her. The thought made his chest tighten painfully.

By the time the helicopter touched down, his jaw was clenched tight. This visit was long overdue.

Before stepping out, he grabbed the several gift boxes he’d picked up earlier with Corvine’s help. The former Beta of the centenary pack had insisted he couldn’t show up empty-handed, and for once Voren had listened.

The powerful thrum of the helicopter blades echoed across the quiet clearing. Almost immediately, the front door of the modest house swung open, and Humphrey and Kylie stepped outside. The middle-aged couple looked stunned to see who had arrived.

"Alpha Voren?" Humphrey’s brows furrowed, his voice carrying a mix of confusion and caution. "To what do we owe this visit?"

The helicopter slowly powered down behind him, kicking up dust as Voren approached. Humphrey and Kylie had expected many things—arrogance, cold authority, maybe even demands.

What they didn’t expect was for Voren to lower his head in a respectful gesture. The move stunned both of them. For a man of his status, especially after their last encounter, it meant a great deal.
