Chapter 446: You’re still just the side chick

When Seraphine stepped outside with Corvine, that crisp mid - morning air hit them right away, wrapping around their skin like a sharp little reminder that it had turned chilly.

But after all the chaos they’d just been through, neither one of them wanted to go back inside those stuffy walls.

Out here in the open felt so much freer, like they could finally breathe without everything closing in on them.

Corvine headed straight for the car, popped open the back door, and pulled out a thermal flask.

A little grin tugged at the corner of his mouth while he unscrewed the lid, silently sending a huge thank-you to Vladimir for waking up at the crack of dawn just to whip up this fresh soup especially for Seraphine.

The whole gathering sprawled out across the open grounds under these massive white canopies, way more laid-back than the fancy stuff happening inside the hall.

Nobody was stuck in their usual rank bullshit. Alphas were chilling right next to Betas, Lunas were laughing with regular pack members, and visitors bounced freely from group to group.

The vibe felt relaxed on the surface, even though this heavy undercurrent of tension still hung over everything like a storm cloud that refused to leave.

Cocktail stations lined one whole side of the field, snack tables were piled high with way too much food, portable bars kept the drinks flowing, and cozy lounge spots were scattered all around for anyone who wanted to kick back and actually talk.

Corvine spotted an empty lounge area tucked nicely under one of the canopies and gently guided Seraphine over there. The second they sank into those cushioned chairs, Daisy popped up out of nowhere, like she’d been lurking and just waiting for her chance.

Corvine didn’t even bother glancing at her. He just poured the steaming hot soup into a bowl and slid it across the table toward Seraphine, his eyes going all soft and warm the moment they landed on her.

"Drink it while it’s still hot," he told her, his voice full of that protective care. "I’ve got another whole thermos in the car if you want seconds."

Seraphine took the bowl without any argument, and that rich, comforting smell rose up around them as she lifted the spoon.
