Always Been Yours

Chapter 1518

CHAPTER 1518 A SURPRISE

After a simple exchange of pleasantries, everybody became more familiar with each other. That was especially true after a few rounds of drinks. Many of them began to relax and let loose.

Looking at the women dancing in the living room, Tessa couldn't help thinking that they were very energetic.

At this moment, Sabrina finished entertaining the ladies around her and walked over with a glass of wine in her hand. "What are you looking at, Tess?"

"I'm looking at your friends," Tessa answered truthfully. Then, she sighed with a soft smile. "It sure is nice to be young."

"Tess, why are you speaking as though you're very old?" Sabrina glanced at Tessa, not knowing whether to cry or laugh at the statement.

Tessa blinked and grinned. "Compared to you girls, aren't I much older?"

Sabrina fell silent because she did not know how to answer the question. In the end, she decided to change the topic and brought up the reason she approached Tessa instead. "Tess, can you accompany me during the makeup session tomorrow morning? I'm too nervous and scared to go alone."

While speaking, she even acted frail and delicate on purpose so that she seemed weak and vulnerable.

Tessa was actually deceived by Sabrina's pretense. She immediately nodded and agreed. "Sure. I'll come over early tomorrow morning to accompany you."

"Thank you, Tess!" Sabrina hugged Tessa's arm in delight.

A short while later, Tessa began to feel sleepy and expressed her desire to leave.

Sabrina did not try to stop Tessa from leaving. After all, a pregnant woman needed more rest.

Back at home, Tessa was surprised to see Nicholas sitting on the couch as soon as she walked into the living room. He seemed to be tipsy.

"Why are you back so early? Has Timothy's party ended?"

"No. I came back early because I missed you." While speaking, Nicholas beckoned her over.

Listening to his sweet words, she walked over with a sweet smile on her face.

They snuggled on the couch in the living room for some time. Then, she abruptly recalled her promise to Sabrina.

"I'm meeting Sabrina early tomorrow morning. I promised to accompany her during her makeup session, so I won't be joining you at the wedding venue."

Nicholas' eyes glinted slightly at those words, and he responded with a faint smile. "I'll send you there tomorrow."

"Forget it. It's too early. You should sleep a little more. You haven't been resting well recently." Tessa shook her head and refused his offer.

It turned out that Timothy had previously made a suggestion for both families to take a vacation together after the wedding. In order to make time for the trip, Nicholas had been working overtime to settle some work matters.

Nicholas was pleased to hear his wife's concerns. "It's not a problem. I'll have many chances to catch up on my rest later."

Seeing her husband's insistence, Tessa did not bother to mention anything else.

They continued chatting for some time, then they retired to their bedroom to rest.

The next day, Tessa woke up before dawn. The sky outside was dark at the time.

She had a simple breakfast. After that, Nicholas drove her to meet Sabrina.
