Kevin couldn't help but feel mildly irked as he watched Anne's receding figure. He had done so many things for her these past few days yet he had barely made any progress.

If his secretary hadn't advised him to take it slow, he wouldn't have hesitated to use force.

Anne flashed him an awkward smile, purposely omitting Kevin's name.

He could tell that she was embarrassed. It was also obvious that she was lying but he decided not to mention it.
