Amelia POV

As soon as Lincoln leaves the room, Eli starts to cry. It’s almost like he knows his daddy left. I smile to myself at that thought. Pheobe looks at the baby in the bassinet and I can tell she’s nervous. “It’s OK, just pick him up and support his head.” She looks at me like I’m crazy. “I’ve never held a baby before Luna.” “You will do fine just remember what I said about supporting his head.” She reaches in and lifts him slowly until he is in her arms. He immediately quiets and she smiles. “See I told you that you would do fine.” “He’s beautiful Amelia.” “He looks like a perfect blend of you and Lincoln.” I smile because, despite who his sperm donor is, he does look like Lincoln. I’m sure it is a gift from the goddess. He starts to fuss and I see panic flash on her face. “It’s OK, he is probably just ready to eat again.” She places him in my arms and once I have him positioned, he latches on quickly. I look back at Pheobe, noticing the mark on her neck. “Congratulations on your marking.” She blushes and touches her fingers to her mark. “Thank you, Luna.” “Pheobe, unless we are in a formal setting, you can call me Amelia.” “After all you are the Beta Female now.”

I start to hear a distant conversation in my mind. It’s an open link. At first, I think it might be Lily. Maybe she realized I was trying to link her earlier. I listen waiting to hear Lily’s voice, until I hear Amelia say Atlas’s name. Talon bites down on the rogue in front of us. “This was a diversion, that ba**ard has kept us busy to get to Amelia and our pup.” Talon growls, turning immediately and taking off toward the hospital as fast as our legs can carry us. We are almost there when I feel the full link from Amelia. “I’m on my way, love” I say. A few minutes later, I reach the hospital and shift. I rush inside and when I reach the door it’s locked. “Amelia”, I yell before I slam the door, throwing it open.
