48 Its Time Wolf

Lincoln POV

The minute Amelia shifts into Star, it takes my breath away. She is the most beautiful wolf I have ever seen. Her fur looks like silk and it’s the most perfect chocolate brown color. I know Talon is ready to be with her, but right now, we have to run with the pack. “I promise you, Talon, as soon as the celebrations is over you will have time with Star to mate and mark.” I press my lips to her snout before I shift. She does not make it easy when she rubs her soft fur down Talon’s side. “Soon Talon”, I say, and he takes off. As we run, I have never felt so connected to my pack. We run the border of the territory and once we return, we both shift. After dinner we will have our time with Star. Before we head to the banquet hall, I lead Amelia upstairs. We are standing outside our office and I stop her before we go inside. “Lincoln, shouldn’t we be down at the dinner?” “We should, but I made a decision and I would like to take care of it before we go to dinner.” She looks confused but I don’t explain. I just lead her into the office.

When we walk in, Lily, Neal, and Elder James are waiting for us. She looks around and then back at me. “I have decided that Neal will be Gamma and Lily will be Gamma Female.” “They asked me to do it privately as to not take away from yours and Pheobe’s ceremony.” She looks into my eyes and tears run down Amelia’s cheek. I take the dagger from my desk cutting my hand allowing my blood to once again run into the chalice. “Neal, make your vow to the pack” Elder James says. “I, Neal Connor Martin, vow to put the needs of the pack above my own.” “I will support the Alpha and Luna in all pack matters.” “I will defend the pack with my last breath.” He drinks and I feel his connection to me get stronger. “Lily, make your vow to the pack” Elder James says. “I, Lily Teresa Martin, vow to put the needs of the pack above my own.” “I will support the Alpha and Luna in all pack matters.” “I will use my powers to defend the pack with my last breath.” Elder James turns to me. “Neal Connor Martin you are the Gamma of the Nightfire Pack from this day forward.” I turn to Lily “Lily Teresa Martin, you are the Gamma Female of the Nightfire Pack from this day forward.” I shake Neal’s hand and hug Lily. Amelia does the same. We all head down to the banquet hall. The moment we step inside, Pheobe and Michael are waiting for us. We stand before the pack and I formerly announce Neal and Lily as Gamma. The pack breaks out into howls and we all take our seats at the table.
