Selma POV

His eyes are kind unlike the ba**ard that just marked me. I see a flash of sadness and then something I can’t identify as he looks into my eyes. “Who are you and what do you want?” “My name is Bryson. I am my brother’s second in command. He sent me here to watch over you. I’m sorry for what he and my father have done.” “If you’re sorry then help me get the f**k out of here.” I could see the regret and pain in his eyes. “Can I get you anything to eat or drink?” I turn away from him. I will not give these ba**ards the satisfaction of seeing me break. I hear the door close and I’m grateful to be alone. I sit up and try to make a connection with Cayden again. I know my magic is weak, so I’ll I can do is hope that our familial connection will make it possible.
