Loretta hesitated for a moment, then said casually, "Listen, Nick... I have a friend abroad who runs some really good healing courses. Would it be convenient for you to schedule a session soon? Even though Loretta framed it as nothing serious, her words, meant to reassure, landed heavily on Nick like a stone pressing down on his chest.
