Chaim lowered his eyes and thought for a moment. He didn't know how to answer her question. He couldn't really explain why he didn't allow them to meet. All he knew was that there was a voice inside him saying that when they did, something would happen that was beyond his control.

He didn't want to believe the feeling, yet he couldn't stop worrying about it either. Because of that, up until to now he hadn't told Eve he was married.
