Winston frowned and said, "Let's eat first."

It had been notified early that Winston wanted everyone to come for the lunch.

Although Winston had retired, he was the head of Lawrence family and had absolute authority.

Everyone had to respect him.

Of course, except for Emmett.

Even Winston couldn't do anything to Emmett.

Winston was a conservative person and especially liked the new year.

When Alyssa came over in the morning, Winston had sent people to tell her that they had to stay here for a family reunion if there wasn’t anything that required urgent attention.

Tomorrow was New Year's Eve and the day after was the first day of the new year.

The Lawrence family was a big family. There would be many guests coming and going from the first day of the new year, so everyone had to be busy.

Dylan was not at home for lunch today, so Winston was naturally unhappy.

Alyssa thought maliciously that if Winston knew that Dylan was going to pick Skylar up and get her out of prison today, she did not know how angry he would be.

Would he be so angry that he would get someone to beat Dylan up?

It was not until they finished their meal that Dylan rushed back.

"Grandpa."

Dylan walked in from outside in a hurry. It was obvious that he had come back in a hurry.

A big table of people had lunch and had not left yet.

Winston looked up at Dylan and said in a deep voice, "You still know how to come back!"

He had a straight face and raised his eyebrows high. He sat upright on his seat and looked very dignified.

Alyssa could not help but straighten her back and sit upright. Her sharp eyes noticed that Dylan's entire body trembled.

Winston was indeed powerful.

It turned out that Dylan was also afraid of Winston.

"I'm sorry, Grandpa. I was delayed by something at work." Dylan lowered his head and looked like he was being taught well, which made Winston calm down.

Although Winston was relieved, his tone was still stern. "The entertainment industry is very chaotic. There are bad news every day. You will lose your reputation in that industry sooner or later. Why don't you quit and do something else?"

Alyssa pinched Emmett's hand under the table.

Emmett turned to look at her.

Alyssa opened her mouth and said quietly, "He is talking about you."

Emmett had founded a film company and Winston did not like it.

Emmett pinched Alyssa's fingers and looked at her with warning.

Alyssa narrowed her eyes and smiled silently. Emmett turned his face away and said to Winston, "Grandpa, I'm a little tired. I'll go back to my room first."

After he said that, without waiting for Winston's permission, he pulled Alyssa up and wanted to leave.

Winston could not care about Emmett. He was already very satisfied that Emmett was willing to return to the old residence for the new year. Naturally, he did not care about Emmett's usual way of doing things.

Dylan turned his head and looked at the two of them. There was a faint unwillingness in his eyes.

He had not come back for a meal and was about to be reprimanded by his grandfather. Emmett, on the other hand, could do whatever he wanted.

His grandfather had always doted on Emmett.

Alyssa was led away by Emmett. She was as obedient as a quail and followed him without looking away.

When the two of them were about to walk out of the dinning room, she heard George's voice behind them.

"Dad, I think it's better to let Dylan go to the Lawrence Group to work. He has been close to Emmett since he was young. Emmett has just gone to the Lawrence Group not long ago and there are not many people he can trust. It just so happens that they can have each other’s back."

If it was a month ago when Alyssa heard George's words, she would definitely agree with him.

However, what Dylan had done recently indicated that he wanted to go against Emmett. He wanted to go against Emmett in every way.

George had mentioned this when they were at the old residence last time.

What George had said at that time was more or less to let Emmett and Dylan take care of each other.

Emmett had already confessed his attitude clearly last time. She did not expect George to bring it up in front of Winston today.

Wasn't it obvious that he was using Winston to force Emmett to work with Dylan?

Alyssa did not understand what George was thinking.

Emmett and George had not been on good terms all these years. And Winston seemed to be trying to mend their relationship.

But sometimes, the things George did just worsened it.

Emmett, who was standing in front of her, had already stopped.

Alyssa raised her head to look at him and saw him turn around.

She thought he would say something, but Emmett just looked at George with a cold smile.

When the two of them returned to the room, Emmett took off his coat and sat on the sofa. His eyes were a little empty. No one knew what he was thinking, but it seemed like he was not thinking at all.

Alyssa asked him, "Are you thinking about what your father said just now?"

"No." Emmett shook his head.
