Alyssa walked to the back of the sofa and kissed Angela on the face.

"Mommy." Angela turned to look at her and called her perfunctorily. Angela then turned to watch TV.

Cartoons really had magic.

Alyssa walked to Angela's side and sat down. She also watched along with her.

She watched for a while and found that the children's anime now was quite interesting.

Emmett knew Angela's character. She was especially fascinated by the cartoons, so Emmett did not care about her.

After he went back to his room, took a shower and get downstairs, he saw Alyssa who was sitting next to Angela, looking at the cartoons with a serious expression. His expression froze for a rare moment.

Emmett looked at the time and strode over to the mother and daughter. He reached out his hand and turned off the TV.

Then, he said coldly, "Go take a bath and sleep."

Angela pursed her lips. Although she was very unhappy, because the person who turned off her TV was Emmett, she was angry but did not dare to say anything. "Oh," she said and was about to slide off the sofa.

But Alyssa was different.

What he meant was that it was already half past nine. They should go upstairs to shower and sleep.

She felt someone pulling at her clothes. Alyssa turned her head and saw Angela smiling in a fawning manner. "Mommy, I still want to watch cartoons."

Emmett's slender figure appeared at the door.

He looked at Alyssa expressionlessly. "What are you doing here?"

He was dressed in his pajamas and his face looked unhealthy and pale.

This reminded Alyssa of the day when Emmett looked so painful in the study.

"I'll go down and get some water." Alyssa hesitated for a moment and when she was about to say ‘Are you okay?’, she swallowed it back and only said one sentence. "Do you want some water?"

Alyssa originally asked out of courtesy, but Emmett did not stand on ceremony. "I want coffee."

Alyssa nodded and went downstairs to pour herself a cup of water. She also made Emmett a cup of coffee.

When she came up with the coffee, she found the study door was half open.

Emmett must have left the door open specially for her.

She walked in with the tray and saw Emmett sitting in front of the desk, frowning slightly as he focused on flipping through the documents in his hand. He was fully concentrated.

Alyssa walked over and placed the coffee beside him. She noticed that his expression was still very bad and could not help but say, "You should also rest early."

Emmett looked up at her. His expression was very calm.

Under his gaze, Alyssa had a feeling that she was meddling in other people's business.

She did not know why she said such words so easily. It sounded as if she was very concerned about him.

Alyssa was a little uncomfortable, "I will go out first."

She turned around and was about to leave, but Emmett pulled her by the wrist.
