She remembered the plot structure of the 'Lost City', but there were some details that she could not remember very clearly.

Now that she wanted to write the second part, she had to restudy the contents of the first part.

For the entire afternoon, Alyssa had been holding her tablet and watching "Lost City.”

Even when she was cooking, she placed the tablet on the glass counter and watched the series while cutting vegetables.

Suddenly, she heard a loud bang outside the door.

Alyssa was stunned. After clicking on the pause button, she lifted her foot and walked towards the door.

Before she reached out to open the door, the door was opened from the outside.

An unfamiliar man in work clothes stood at the door.

Alyssa's expression turned cold as she asked, "Who are you?"

The man was a little intimidated by Alyssa and his voice was a little weak. "I am a locksmith. . ."

Alyssa's expression became even colder. "I did not call you to unlock the lock."

At this time, a familiar man's voice sounded. "I asked him to do it."

The man who unlocked the door stepped back and Emmett's handsome face appeared in Alyssa's line of sight.

"Emmett?" Alyssa was so angry that she laughed. "Are you too idle so you ask someone to unlock my lock? Don’t you know how to knock? Or at least, you can call my phone too!"

Alyssa reached out her hand and scratched her hair in frustration.

Emmett looked at her coldly. His tone was a little gloomy. "I have knocked and called you.”

Alyssa heard him and quickly went back to her room to get her phone.

She found her cell phone on the tea table in the living room. There were a few missed calls. They were all from Emmett.

Emmett had indeed called her just now.

It must be because she had been watching Lost City, so she did not hear her phone ring.

She turned her head and found that Emmett had already followed her into the room. At this time, he was sitting on the sofa.

He loosened his tie and leaned on the sofa, looking at Alyssa with a gloomy expression.

Alyssa put down her phone and turned around to pour him a glass of water.

Emmett took the water and took a sip. He frowned and asked, "What are you doing?"

Alyssa was a little embarrassed but she still said truthfully, "I am watching TV."

Emmett sneered and did not say anything.

Alyssa glanced in the direction of the door again. After confirming that, Emmett was the only one who came, she asked, "Where is Angela? Why didn't she come with you?"

When Angela was mentioned, Emmett's face slightly darkened. "She has a cold. I just came back from the company. I'll take you to see her."

Alyssa moved her lips. The words reached her mouth but she swallowed them back.

A child's immunity was weak to begin with. It was normal for a child to get sick and catch a cold.

Moreover, it was not necessarily Emmett's fault.

Emmett himself was a patient now, wasn't he?

"Wait a minute. I need to change my clothes." Alyssa got up and went back to her room.

Not long after, Alyssa came out.

It was autumn and the temperature was suitable. It was neither too cold nor too hot. She wore a white sweater and a skirt. She looked simple and warm.

Alyssa picked up her phone and urged Emmett, "Let's go."

Emmett stood up and put his hands into the pockets of his pants. He strode out.

The two of them entered the elevator at the same time.

Emmett turned his head to look at her. He saw her pursed her lips slightly, looking very worried.

"I've looked for a doctor. There's no problem. Children are prone to catch a cold." Emmett sounded like he was comforting Alyssa.

However, his words did not affect Alyssa. She nodded perfunctorily.

Emmett's expression darkened and he did not speak anymore.

Twenty minutes later, the two of them arrived at Emmett's villa.

As soon as Alyssa got out of the car, she quickly walked inside.

She had lived in Emmett's villa before, so she was very familiar with the villa. When she entered the hall, she directly ran upstairs to Angela's room.

Lying on the bed weakly, Angela was put on a drip, which was hung before the bed.

Alyssa walked over and softly called, "Ella?"

Angela's eyes were black and bright and her eyelashes were long but not perky. When she was asleep, her eyes were closed and her eyelashes were directly covering the puffiness under her eyes.

Half of her small face was covered by the blanket and nose gently moved as she breathed.

She looked especially pitiful.

Angela slept very lightly. Alyssa only lightly called out and she opened her eyes.

She first rolled her eyes blankly and then when she saw Alyssa, she immediately narrowed her eyes and smiled, "Mommy."
