Nash felt that being imprisoned was too easy for Miranda. He wanted to punish her.

"You're not stupid," Nash said mockingly, like a grim reaper delivering his final verdict. "Your life is at its end!"

"No, you can't!" Miranda became frantic. "You can't lock me up. It's illegal! Nash, you're harming yourself by doing this!"

She feared Nash might take drastic actions. If he wouldn't let her go to prison, being locked up by him would surely be more painful. She did not want to be tortured. Prison would be preferable. The more she thought about it, the more her heart raced. She wanted to escape.

She quickly got up and tried to run away.

Nash watched her retreating figure without making a move to stop her, knowing she couldn't escape. A cruel smile formed on his lips, sending chills down one's spine.

Miranda ran as fast as she could, not even looking around. She had no idea what the house looked like, only picking a direction and running blindly. She ran until she was out of breath, too scared to stop, fearing Nash would catch her.
