Chasing Back My Ex-wife
Chapter 54
Lizbeth downed the wine in one gulp and cringed. She pointed at the spot where her heart was. "Jenson, it hurts right here...so much! Forget it...forget it, you wouldn't...understand even if I told you!"
She liked Arthur so much and wanted to marry him so much, but he always yelled at her over another woman.
Last time, it was Elyse. Now, it was Lucy. Arthur had never cared about her!
She was really heartbroken!
Jenson thought, 'How do you know I wouldn't understand that feeling?' However, he only reached out his fair hand to snatch her glass away. "That's enough, you can't drink any more, or you're really going to feel sick!"
"You know," Lizbeth suddenly threw herself into his arms and held his face in her hands. "If only you were Arthur, how nice that would be! If only Arthur treated me...so well, I would be on cloud nine!"
"Why must I be Arthur? I am me. Isn't being with me a good thing?"
Her face was very close to his. When she spoke, he could smell the scent of alcohol mixed with the scent of perfume. Gazing at her moving lips, he suppressed the urge to kiss her.
"It's not good, not good at all!" Lizbeth quickly distanced herself from him and staggered out, muttering, "You are not Arthur, and I don't like you. So what's the use of you being nice to me?"
Sadness shadowed Jenson's dazzling eyes for a moment and was gone.
He paid the bill and quickly caught up with her. He pulled her into his arms so that people wouldn't bump into her and make her fall down.
Lizbeth didn't buy it. She struggled hard and scratched him with her fingernails. "Only Arthur can touch me. Don't think you can put your hands all over me while I'm drunk! You b*stard, let go of me!'
"If I let go of you, you will fall down." It hurt where she had scratched off a layer of skin, but his heart hurt more.
He thought that after so long, even if she didn't like him, she would at least see him as a friend. However,...
Lizbeth clawed at him even harder. "I won't fall. You're just taking advantage of me! Let go, or I will never talk to you again!"
Jenson had no choice but to let go of her and follow behind her. Watching her unstable footsteps, he was scared she'd fall down.
However, Lizbeth strangely kept her balance. She staggered along but did not fall down, except that she bumped into a woman when they were almost reaching her house.
She looked up at the woman, and when she saw her face clearly, she clawed out at her. "You little b*tch, you already got kidnapped. How are you still out here seducing people? Do you think Arthur really loves you? If it wasn't because you look like Elyse, did you think Arthur would have spared you a glance?"
Why was Lucy so lucky? Five years ago, she had survived the plane crash, and now that she had gotten kidnapped, she had escaped in one piece.
But it didn't matter. She could just kill Lucy! That way, Arthur would stop being seduced by that sl*t!
The woman's face was bleeding from Lizbeth's scratch, and it hurt badly. "Excuse me, let...let go of me. I don't know you!"
The woman thought, "Why is she suddenly clawing at me and strangling me? And who's Arthur?"
"She must have mistaken me for someone else."
"Lizbeth, let go!" Seeing that the woman's face had turned red from suffocation, Jenson pulled Lizbeth away more forcefully.
Lizbeth erupted in anger at being dragged away by Jenson. She kicked and punched at him. "Why are you siding with Lucy? Jenson, have you also fallen in love with her?"
After that, she squatted on the ground and burst into tears. "Why doesn't anyone want me anymore?"
"Miss, you've got the wrong person. I'm not Lucy." Seeing the branded clothes they were wearing, the woman knew they shouldn't be messed with. She explained quickly and rushed off.
Jenson was also a little shocked. That woman looked so much like Lucy! If it wasn't because they had different temperaments, he would have thought she was Lucy herself!
However, he didn't dwell on it and squatted down, wanting to console Lizbeth.
Before he could say anything, she suddenly stood up and ran outwards unsteadily.
By the time Jenson caught up to her, she had already gotten into the car.
"Lizbeth, wait for me!" He went to the passenger seat and pulled at the door.
However, Lizbeth quickly locked the doors from the inside and yelled angrily, "Since you guys like Lucy, then go look for her. Why be with me?"
Her eyes looked unfocused from the drinks, but what was more obvious was a strong look of hatred.
Jenson endured the intense pain in his hand and wanted to explain, but the car had pulled away.
He looked at his red and swollen hand, then gazed at the car that was driving further way. A helpless and forlorn look appeared on his face.
In the car, Lizbeth held the steering wheel with one hand and her phone with the other.
She had had a heart attack. She didn't think Arthur would really ignore her! He would surely call her!
However —
There were no missed calls.
