"Arthur..."Chad looked at him, stunned.

Arthur was covered in blood. Even his face and eyebrows were stained with dried blood, and drops of blood were dripping from his stubble onto the floor.

He pressed his lips tightly, and his usually bright eyes were bloodshot. Along with the bloodstains on him, he looked violent and ruthless.

The servants there were well-trained and well-behaved, but when they saw him, some of them screamed in fear.

Max let go of Chad and handed Arthur a clean handkerchief.

"Alright, this doesn't concern you guys. You're all dismissed!" Chad shook his aching arm and warned them, "But you'd better keep your lips sealed. If I find anyone running their mouths outside..."

He laughed coldly, looking completely different from his usual playful self.

"Sir, don't worry. We...we won't run our mouths." The servants quickly left.

After using more than ten handkerchiefs, Arthur finally cleaned most of the blood off his face. However, there was nothing he could do about the bloodstains on his shirt.

"Arthur." Chad held back for a long time, but he had to ask. "Did you kill that b*stard?"

"Sometimes, being alive is more painful than death." Arthur took a fresh white handkerchief and slowly wiped down his fingers.

Chad got goosebumps all over and his hairs stood on end. For some reason, he felt a chill run down his spine.

He looked in the direction of the basement and immediately looked away. It was too terrifying!

"Since you're done dealing with that b*stard, what are you going to do next?" Chad sat further away because the smell of blood was too suffocating. "Are you really going to let Lizbeth go just like this?"

Arthur continued wiping his fingers, but a vicious look flashed in his eyes.

This time, Lucy had nearly died. How could he possibly let Lizbeth go?

Chad thought his silence meant agreement. "You're really going to let Lizbeth go?! Arthur, let me remind you that Lucy nearly died at Lizbeth's hands this time, and yet you're still shielding Lizbeth! How could anyone stand that?"

Max rolled his eyes at Chad and said politely, "Mr. Johnson, the hospital called five minutes ago saying that Mrs. Johnson has woken up."

"Okay." Arthur's tensed muscles relaxed a little. He immediately stood up and walked towards the door.

Max followed closely behind him.

"Hey, hey, hey, Arthur! Don't leave me behind!" Chad panicked.

Arthur didn't even spare him a glance as he hurried off.

Max turned back and roasted Chad, "Sissy!"

...

"Mom... Aunt Lucy, are you badly hurt?" Caden tugged at Lucy's hospital gown with red-rimmed eyes.

His mother had told him before that he should call her Aunt Lucy in public.

Lucy patted his head and smiled a little. "I'm fine. Don't cry."

She wanted to carry him, but her wound reopened and blood flowed down her hospital gown.

"You'd better behave!" Kylah pressed her down and said, "You're already an adult. Don't you know when you should or shouldn't act tough?!"

"Aunt Lucy, rest well. Once you've recovered, I'll introduce my girlfriend to you!" Caden acted like an adult and patted Lucy on the head.

Lucy had no choice but to lie down obediently. She was speechless at how often her son changed girlfriends.

"You little rascal, have you changed girlfriends again?" Kylah obviously didn't know about this.

Caden still had tears in his eyes as he smiled flatteringly. "She gave me a lollipop today. We've just confirmed our relationship."

Lucy was speechless.

She had indeed gotten older and couldn't understand romance between youngsters nowadays.

"You rascal, do you really like that girl? Or did the lollipop steal your heart?" Kylah rolled her eyes.

The three of them chatted for a while. With Caden around, the atmosphere was very cheerful.

Knock, knock, knock!

The doctor came in and said, "Ms. Morgan, someone is here to see you."

Jenson walked in, and a look of dislike appeared in his charming eyes at the sight of Lucy.

Lizbeth, dressed in a light yellow dress, followed him inside. When she saw the mini version of Arthur, her face froze for a moment.

Why was that child here?

Had Arthur seen him?!

Her gaze was so intense that Caden tugged at Lucy's hand unhappily.

Lucy frowned, but before she could say anything, Kylah already spoke up darkly, "Lizbeth, you're not welcome here!"

Seeing that a private argument was going on, the doctor tactfully went out and closed the door behind him.
