"Mr. Byrd, Arthur is the one at fault here. When he comes, I'll surely make him apologize to you," Mr. Johnson said gravely.

Mrs. Johnson quickly added, "I apologize to you on Arthur's behalf. Actually, I think that since Arthur and Lizbeth have known each other for so many years, it may not be Arthur's doing."

Arthur was such a sensible person. How could he possibly do something so crazy to Lizbeth?

Mr. Byrd slapped the table and stood up. "What do you mean? Do you think I'm wrongly putting the blame on Arthur? Mrs. Johnson, don't forget that Arthur admitted it himself!"

"Mr. Byrd, I didn't mean it like that. Don't be angry," Mrs. Johnson explained quickly, feeling very pathetic. "I just think that Arthur is someone who knows his limits. Maybe he was just influenced by Lucy."

Speaking of Lucy, Mrs. Johnson got angry. In the five years Lucy had been gone, Arthur had missed her the whole time, which was why she didn't have a grandchild yet!

"Is there any difference between whether your daughter-in-law or your son did it? Huh?" At the thought of Lizbeth almost losing her life, Mr. Byrd was furious.

Mr. Johnson also felt like their treatment was undeserved. "Mr. Byrd, Lucy was gone for five years, and we thought she was long dead. How could you blame our family for something she did?"

Seeing Mr. Byrd's expression grow stormier, he immediately said, "Of course, I'm not defending Arthur. If he was really the one who did this, we'll do what should be done! I won't complain!"

The Johnson family and the Byrd family weren't just normal friends, but business associates. He could only hope that Arthur hadn't done this.

Mrs. Johnson loved her son, so she hurriedly held Jenson back. "Jenson, don't get violent yet. There has to be some sort of misunderstanding."

After saying in a hurry, she gave Arthur a hinting look. "Arthur, tell mommy the truth. Are you only admitting to it to protect Lucy?"

Even if Arthur had done it, she couldn't let him admit it!

The relationship between the Johnson family and the Byrd family could not be ruined because of Lucy!

"This matter has nothing to do with Lucy." Anger crept into Arthur's eyes and his expression grew stormy. "Lizbeth hurt my woman, so I gave her a taste of her own medicine. Was I wrong?"

Slap!

Mrs. Johnson slapped Arthur in the face and said angrily, "What nonsense are you talking about? You and Lucy have been separated for five years, and that marriage certificate should have been void for a long time! Apologize to Mr. Byrd!"

What on earth had that sly b*tch, Lucy, done to bewitch her son?!

The Byrd family's relatives thought Arthur was too much. So what if Lucy got beaten and r*ped? How was she the same as the Byrd family's precious Lizbeth?

However, Arthur was too intimidating, plus they had learnt their lesson from dealing with him in the business world, so they only dared to curse at him inwardly. They dared not voice up anything to his face.

"There's no need for him to apologize!" Mr. Byrd was so angry that his face was as red as a tomato and his temples throbbed. "The Johnson family is way out of our league. From today onwards, our families will have nothing to do with each other!"

How dare anyone disrespect his precious daughter like that?
