Justin continued knocking on the door. "Rose, may I come in?"

There was still no response, and Steve kept crying.

Feeling uneasy, he opened the door. Inside, he saw Steve crying in the cradle.

Justin immediately picked him up. "It's okay, Steve. I'm here. Don't be afraid."

He heard the sound of running water from the bathroom. The glass door was fogged over, indicating that Rosalie was inside taking a shower. She must not have heard the baby crying.

Justin didn't think too much of it. He gently rocked Steve, trying to soothe him.

"Steve, don't cry. Be good. I'm here, okay? Do you need your diaper changed?" After checking the diaper and finding it dry, he continued, "Steve, are you hungry?"
