Xyla was stunned. She couldn't understand why Chandra had abruptly shifted her stance.

The police officers seemed equally puzzled.

"Miss Fisher, is that really the case?" one of them asked.

"Of course," Chandra replied, her eyes flashing with authority. "Do you think I'm lying? My subordinates got into a fight. I'll deal with them myself. You officers are busy with more important matters, so there's no need for you to handle such trivial issues." The police exchanged uncertain glances before one of them spoke up, "We received a report that there were others involved, not just you. Where are the others?"

"They were my guests," Chandra said curtly. "After this embarrassing scene with my bodyguards, I couldn't very well ask them to stay, so I asked them to leave. Is there anything else you need?"

The officers sensed that the situation wasn't as simple as Chandra made it out to be. However, given her status, they knew better than to push the matter. Clearly, she didn't want this incident to escalate.
