Convenient Marriage: Mr. Nelson's Love Trap

Chapter 18: Public Display of Affection

Matthew’s rage continued to build, but he didn’t understand why the scene would anger him so much.

Matthew coldly cleared his throat. “What are you doing here?”

Hearing his voice, even though Dolores hadn’t known Matthew long, she still knew who was talking immediately.

She turned her head and discovered she was right. Matthew was standing in front of her and his expression was so gloomy that anyone looking at him would move away uncomfortably.

“What did I say last time? How dare you ignore what I said!”

Dolores pulled away from Sampson’s hug. She was so worried about Jessica that she had paid no attention to how close Sampson was to her.

“I—”

As Dolores was about to explain what happened, Sampson grabbed her wrist. Sampson looked at Matthew and spoke calmly.

“Your marriage is only for a month. It’s only an agreement of necessity. You’ll get what you want. What reason do you have to interfere in Dolores’ private affairs?”

Knowing how hard Dolores’ life was, Sampson was heartbroken and promised himself he would cherish and protect Dolores with all his heart.

Matthew stared at Sampson, clutching Dolores’ wrist. For a moment, a mocking sneer played on his lips.

“You let a woman who is pregnant with your child marry another guy. And now you come back to her as a protector?” He glared at Sampson as if his gaze was a sharp sword that would kill Sampson with no mercy. “You are such a coward!”

Dolores’ heart was beating so fast out of shame and helplessness from what Matthew said.

Dolores couldn’t believe Matthew would think that Sampson was the father of her child. She was grateful and respectful to Sampson, but nothing more. Why would he shame Sampson by suggesting such a thing? She removed her hand from Sampson’s and looked Matthew in the eye.

“You can say anything to me. But leave Sampson alone.”

Matthew was surprised by Dolores’ reaction and couldn’t help thinking that they loved each other. How ridiculous could they be? It took everything Matthew had not to yell. She was his wife, but she showed affection to other men in front of him! However, no matter how angry Matthew was, he understood that Sampson was right. Their marriage was indeed only a deal. He didn’t have the right to blame her. But at the same time, he hated seeing them together.
