Convenient Marriage: Mr. Nelson's Love Trap

Chapter 24: I Love the Father of My Child

Matthew wasn’t able to dodge and Dolores fell into him.

Her forehead smacked painfully into his chin and her lips brushed against something stiff protruding from his body. The feeling was familiar, yet distant.

Dolores, stunned for a moment, quickly got up when she came to her senses. Then she realized her lips touched his Adam’s apple… She pressed her head against her forehead in pain and her face was burning hot from her blushing.

The contact also dazed Matthew and he slowly looked up at her. “If I’m a pervert, then what do you think you are?”

Before Dolores could reply, he sat up slowly, purposefully adjusted his collar, and touched the position where Dolores had kissed.

He laughed out loud. “We’re husband and wife. You can tell me directly if you want to kiss me. I’m not so petty.”

Dolores was speechless. Did he really think she wanted to kiss him? It was an accident!

“I don’t want to kiss you!” Dolores whipped around her head and quickly left the living room.

Matthew sat on the sofa, upset by what she said, and called after her sarcastically. “Then who do you want to kiss?” He scoffed. “The man who impregnated you?”

It suddenly exposed the fear and shame with all their glory. She didn’t want to talk about how she became pregnant. But the stiff manner which Matthew said ripped her heart open painfully. She was shattered,, but she maintained a strong front.

“Of course. I love the father of my child.”

‘God, this woman is something!’

“Ms. Flores, have you forgotten that you owe me something?” Matthew stood up, smoothed out his shirt, raised his head slowly, and looked at the petrified Dolores. “I need a translator. Come to the office to work from tomorrow onward.”

That was all he wanted for the land contract. It was for the better, as she would repay him for the land contract and wouldn’t owe him a favor.

“Okay,” she replied, then pushed open the door to her room.

Her face grew hot when she thought about what happened. She didn’t leave her room again until Coral informed her that dinner was ready, worried that she would run into Matthew. Even then, she really didn’t want to leave her room.

Matthew was already at the dining room table as Coral served dinner. Dolores walked over and ate, only looking at her food, refusing to look in Matthew’s direction.
