It was but a moment, yet to Alicia, it felt like an eternity. She saw the hurt and heartbreak in Narissa's eyes, and it sliced her heart to pieces, tearing the remnants of her dignity apart. "I'm sorry."

Unable to face anyone, Alicia let go of Jamie and escaped into her room like a scared kitten. Despite the short journey, she still managed to bump into the doorframe, and it bruised her shoulder. Yet, she ignored the pain and quickly closed the door. Only when darkness had engulfed her could she heave a sigh of relief. She leaned on the door and slowly slid to the ground.

It was still silent outside. A long while later, Narissa finally moved. She made her way to Jamie and easily held him around his shoulder. Calmly, she moved to the elevator. When she passed by Zephyr, she hissed, "Do not tell this to anyone. Not a soul."
