Chapter 31 True Colors Revealed

After experiencing the harsh realities of life and feeling completely hopeless, Lachlan finally regained his rationality. He thought about Claudia's reaction after seeing Nora earlier.

The little one had opened her arms wide and happily pounced on her mother, but Claudia only gave Nora a casual pat on the head. Her gaze, however, lingered on Miranda's Bentley Mulsanne!

Was this the appropriate response from a mother who had endured so much to treat her daughter's illness?

For a moment, Lachlan's eyes flickered with emotion before he calmed down once again. He watched Claudia's performance as if he were an impartial observer.

"Claudia, how much money did you get from Tom? Give it to me now!" Lachlan pushed Claudia away from him and grabbed her shoulders anxiously.

Claudia was taken aback by his sudden demand and looked at him strangely. She had seen him drive off in his Bentley after impressing Rowan and his crew; she assumed that he didn't need any more money. She didn't know what opportunities had come Lachlan's way that turned him into such an impressive figure! That was why she came back with thoughts of reconciling with him.

Of course, she hadn't broken things off with Tom yet; she would do that once she officially got together with Lachlan.

But she never expected Lachlan to ask her for money. Did this guy still need money?

"What's wrong? Weren't you following Tom to raise money for Nora's treatment? What about the money?" Lachlan asked anxiously.

"Don't you have any money? Besides, isn't Nora better now?" Claudia's eyes flickered a few times.

"No! She just temporarily used some special medicine, so there has been some improvement! And if we find a matching bone marrow donor, it will cost a lot of money!"
