Chapter 161

Maja’s phone was tucked securely in her pocket, yet she had no idea who was calling her that night. Even though she had silenced her phone, the calls kept rolling in, one after the other.

The ringing seemed incessant, as if it wouldn’t stop until she picked up.

Things had escalated to the point where Maja felt cornered. She was already contemplating how she’d explain herself once lan finally recognized her.

It was such a night. The rain was roaring outside and the only sound inside was the ringing of her phone.

Maja bowed her head, trying to fish her phone out of her pocket.

“Mr. Raymond, actually I…”

Before she could finish her sentence, a thunderclap echoed from outside the window, but with no accompanying flash of lightning, the room remained in darkness.

Due to the sudden burst of thunder, lan missed the unique change in her voice.

Otherwise, he would have recognized immediately, that this was his designer.

At this moment, however, he couldn’t hear anything over the sudden thunder and the ringing phone.

Maja had prepared herself to give up and had even thought about how she would apologize.

But the moment she pulled her phone out of her pocket, it powered down completely.

It wasn’t her doing though, the phone had simply run out of battery and shut off.
