Chapter 747

He shut his laptop, checking the time and realizing it was time to hit the hay.

But he was restless tonight. He tried showering and laying in bed, but sleep was a no–show.

He picked up a book, trying to read, but the words seemed gibberish.

At 1 AM, he got dressed again and headed out.

This time, he drove himself, parking at the RosenGarden.

A couple of lights were still on in the RosenGarden. He cracked his car window open and lit up a ciggy.

Halfway through, he pulled out his phone and dialed Maja.

With a self–deprecating chuckle, he decided to head back home.

But since the afternoon, her calls to Maja had gone unanswered.

Just a few hours ago, Maja had been nervously awaiting the viewing results with her.
