Elias didn’t deliberately ignore Amanda’s call earlier in the day. He had been dealing with Rosie, who was a nuisance, and wanted to sort that out before talking to Amanda. Now, Amanda wasn’t picking up his calls, and he was at a loss about how to make amends when he returned home later. The thought of it was giving him a headache.

Just then, his phone rang, and he thought it might be Amanda, so he quickly answered it. However, it was Taylor on the other end, and Elias couldn’t hide his disappointment.
