My phone rings, making me jump. I put the mop down and pick it up. When I see Rowan’s name

“Hello.” I force my voice to sound emotionless.

“Hey, how are you?” he asks, sounding a bit unsure.

I swear, I’ll never get used to this version of Rowan. It was just so unlike him. It’s like he woke up
