Deceiving the children meant I had already succeeded in carrying out half of the plan. I sauntered over to the balcony, basking in my victory. I poured myself half a glassof wine, one that I had made myself last year, and sat myself down on the rocking chair to enjoy the moon. The kids were leaving to go camping tomorrow. I know that they would be very sad the moment they found out that I had gone, especially Arron.

The longer I thought about that, the more I felt guilty. So, I made my way to the kitchen and made their favorite cookies.
