They only dared to laugh once Natalie and Shane disappeared out of sight.

Natalie was holding her own laughter in too, and she finally sighed in relief after entering the elevator. She reached out and unhooked her bag from Shane’s shoulder. “Okay, you can give it back now. I don’t want you to get laughed at.”

Despite not saying anything, she had seen her employees’ reactions.

Shane had also seen everything, and he pursed his lips. “Whatever. I don’t mind what they think of me.”

“But I do.” Natalie clutched onto Shane’s arm. “I know you want to help your wife as any good husband would, and I’m more than happy for you to do that privately. However, I don’t want you doing that in front of other people. That bag really can’t live up to your looks. They’ll laugh at you and I don’t want people laughing at my husband.”

She saw it as her duty to protect her husband’s dignity as his wife.

Shane immediately softened.

Natalie slung her bag over her shoulder and asked, “So, where are we going for dinner?”

Shane took out two vouchers from his pocket and passed them to her.

She took a glance at them. “The Walden Hotel’s exclusive couple meal?”

She chuckled. “Why did you suddenly think of booking this?”
