Chapter 33

Estelle said thanks and thought to herself that she lucked out today thanks to Henson, being taken care of like a kid by Jonathan.

Henson also said thanks and thought that it was all because of Ms. Macclain, that’s why his uncle was being such a gentleman, taking good care of him.

The three had their own thoughts, eating their meal quietly. Maybe it was the fantastic surroundings or the chef’s amazing skills, but Estelle was very satisfied with her meal.

As they neared the end of their meal, Henson requested some yogurt. The servant promptly went to retrieve it, and in a casual manner, Jonathan remarked, “Bring two bottles.”

Henson and Estelle whispered, debating whether to go horseback riding or play ball in the indoor court after their meal. Apparently, there were also two horse races in the afternoon.

The servant brought the yogurt and placed a bottle in front of Henson. Jonathan naturally handed the other bottle to Estelle.

They had discussed it well, but after eating meat and drinking yogurt, Henson didn’t want to move anymore. Jonathan accompanied them fishing by the river. It was perfect since it wasn’t good to do vigorous exercise after a full meal.

The three competed in pairs, Estelle and Henson as a team, and Jonathan solo. The loser would treat the others to dinner.

As time passed, Estelle’s expression changed from determined to indifferent. She looked at Jonathan’s bucket full of fish and her empty one, and at Henson cheering her on. She admitted her defeat!

Jonathan enjoyed the afternoon leisure and was gentler than usual. “Is this the final result?”

Estelle looked at Jonathan, “Do you know what a ‘jinx’ is?”

Considering Henson’s streak of bad luck, she couldn’t blame herself for not catching any fish. Jonathan chuckled, offering a sympathetic expression, and then asked Henson, “Didn’t you mention that all the fish in the river were male?”
