“That assistant of hers…” Charlotte frowned as she watched the assistant who was following Sandra.
Joe covered Charlotte’s eyes with his hand, his voice low, “Don’t look at other men. He was one of Sandra’s lovers, and
being her assistant was just a front.”
Yesterday, Sandra had been drugged, but not her assistant. He was just accustomed to such behavior.
Shortly after Sandra left, the trending topics about them were cleared completely. Numerous tech bloggers analyzed the
photos, trying to prove that they were staged.
Then, the official account of the Smith Group released a post with the surveillance video from the parking lot that had
been muted. It demonstrated that there was no physical contact between the two throughout the whole incident.
Public opinion quickly rebounded. The criticism that had been directed at Joe for being unfaithful and a playboy was now
turned against Sandra.

Sandra’s positive image had yet to surface, which prevented angry netizens from exposing her identity.
Under Joe’s insistence, the Roland Group also replaced a business representative to negotiate with the Smith Group, and
everything seemed to be gradually returning to normal.

On this day, Joe had a business meeting with the representatives from Roland Group, so Charlotte planned to pick up
Ben and Anna from school.

“You’re back. What about the child…” Charlotte glanced behind him but didn’t see Danny.
David smiled and explained, “Danny’s condition has completely recovered. The doctor allowed him to return to school,
and my parents took him to choose a school today.”
Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief, genuinely happy for David.
While the Lily incident was regrettable, Danny’s recovery was indeed a fortunate event.
Silence fell between the two of them.
