Despite Gideon’s strong refusal, Lena still fetched iodine to disinfect his wound.

The dim light illuminated Lena’s profile as she carefully and earnestly cleaned Gideon’s wound. Gideon suddenly felt warm.

Just as Gideon thought she would reject him, Lena spoke softly. “Okay.”

Gideon slightly widened his eyes. Clearly, he didn’t expect Lena to agree.

Lena gave him a reproachful look. “What? Do you have to hear me reject you?”

Unable to contain himself, Gideon burst into laughter. He stepped forward, tightly embracing Lena. “Does this mean you’re slowly accepting me?”

He had prepared himself for a long process of letting her accept him gradually, but unexpectedly, he was not the only one who was putting in an effort. Lena was also trying to accept him.
