Jared turned around.

He casually handed Kerri a business card, “Dr. Bradford, I don’t mean to stir up a fuss, but I need to meet this irresponsible parent. I’ve met this kid before, so I’ll take care of him for the next few days. When his folks show up, you can tell them to hit me up.”

With that, Jared picked up Nocturne and was about to leave.

As if Kerri was going to let him just waltz off with Nocturne like that.

She quickly chased after him, “Jared, you can’t just take her. The kid’s parents left him with me, so it’s my job to look after him. You don’t have any ties to the kid and you can’t just snatch him away like that.”

Jared furrowed his brows, “Dr. Bradford, I’ve left you my contact info, the minute the kid’s folks come back, I’ll bring him right over. Are you trying to stop me for some other reason? Or has the kid got some special link to you?”

Jared had his suspicions, because he couldn’t believe that the parents would just dump their kid with a random doc and then disappear for days.

That was just plain irresponsible.
