Chapter 96
All the guests abruptly turned toward the source of the sound.
Cas sius appeared, trailing behind Jason with a smirk on his face as he elegantly strolled into the lobby.
Evadne’s eyes sparkled with delight, her heart swelling with joy!
Thaddeus, on the other hand, felt his heart drop, his gaze instantly turning icy cold.
All of a sudden, Evadne felt a chill in the air, as if an iceberg was standing next to her.
She subconsciously looked at Thaddeus, whose handsome face was clouded over, his deep eyes seemingly hiding a storm. It was kind of scary.
“Mr. Hamiltion, sorry for my tar diness.”
Cas sius bowed politely to Hamiltion in apology. President Ashbourne looked rather unique today. Instead of a formal suit, he opted for a beautifully tailored traditional Mandarin-collared casual outfit, highlighting his refined and gentle demeanor.
The ladies around were once again fascinated.
Mr. Thaddeus, Mr. Jareth, President Ashbourne… they were daydreaming about who would be their hubby in their dreams tonight.
“It’s alright, Mr. Cas sius. I’m already delighted that you could attend my birthday party,” Hamiltion replied with a friendly smile, not showing any coldness despite Cas sius being Emeric Ashbourne’s son.
Evadne heaved a sigh of relief.
She had initially thought that Mr. Hamiltion might mind the presence of Cas sius, but it seemed that she had overestimated it.
“Ilana, come here,” Cas sius smiled softly and held out his hand to Ilana.
Upon seeing Cas sius, Elspeth and Acacia exchanged glances and smirked triumphantly.
They were eager to see Ilana caught between two wealthy chaps, eventually losing her dignity and revealing her true colors to Hamiltion.

“Sure.”
Unexpectedly, Evadne took brisk steps without any hesitation and eagerly walked towards Cas sius.
Elspeth and Acacia were taken aback.
Jareth watched as the woman he loved returned to Cas sius’ side, feeling a pang of bitterness. Is this what it felt like to be a spare tire? It hurt!
Thaddeus’s shoulders trembled slightly, he widened his eyes, and raised his arm, clutching at thin air.
He didn’t know what he wanted to hold on to. An indescribable bitterness welled up in his heart.
“Huh? When did Ilana get close with Mr. Cas sius? They seem to be on good terms,” Hamiltion was puzzled.
“Didn’t you know? Ilana is now…”
Just as Elspeth was about to spill the beans, Cas sius beat her to it.
“Mr. Hamiltion, I appreciate your care for Ilana over the past three years. She always mentioned you fondly to me, seeing you as family. I’ve taken to heart your kindness towards her.
With that, Cas sius put his arm around Evadne’s slender waist.
Everyone was stunned!
They looked perfect together, just like a power couple from a TV drama.
Thaddeus clenched his fists, feeling as if his blood had frozen.
“But from now on, Ilana will be by my side, under the care of the Ashbourne family. Even though she can’t be an Abernathy anymore, her feelings for you will not change,” Cas sius said with a candid smile, “Mr. Hamiltion, you’ll always be the most respected person in Ilana’s heart.”
Cas sius was impeccable in his manners, humble and polite.
“Wait…Are you and Mr. Cas sius…” Hamiltion looked at Evadne in shock.
“Ilana and Mr. Cas s ius are together now,” Frederic whispered, “Ilana has found a new love, so you should stop trying to link her with Thaddeus. A forced relationship won’t last.” “Yes,” Elspeth chimed in. “Ilana was taken away by Mr. Cas sius soon after leaving the Abernathy family. Obviously, there was something going on between them all along.”
“Something going on?” Hamiltion widened his eyes.
“Yes, how else would things progress so quickly? So I’ve been saying, there’s no need to play matchmaker for Thaddeus and Ilana. What’s the point of a loveless marriage? Better to let them find their own happiness sooner. You won’t have to worry about Ilana anymore. The Ashbournes are just as prestigious as the Abernathys.”
Elspeth spoke softly but her words were sharp.
She was eager to see how Evadne could maintain her innocent image in front of Mr. Hamiltion!
Evadne bit her lip, her eyes downcast.
She had seen this day coming, so even if Mr. Hamiltion blamed her, she was prepared for it.
“Mr. Hamiltion, please don’t blame Ilana,” Thaddeus intervened helplessly, looking at Evadne, “She owes me nothing. Now that she’s with Mr. Cas sius, I wish her well.”
The word “wish” was said reluctantly.
Evadne’s pupils shrank and she could not help but look at Thaddeus in surprise. In her memory, this proud man had always called her by her full name coldly, never “Ilana”.
If they hadn’t divorced, she would have been delighted to hear him call her that.
But now, she only lifted her lips in disdain, feeling rather uncomfortable.
“Whatever! Like your blessing matters? Could you win Ilana back if I asked you to?” Hamiltion snapped, giving Thaddeus a couple of smacks. “Is it Ilana’s fault she’s with someone else? Isn’t it all on you?! You don’t have the chops like Mr. Cas sius to snag such a great wife!”
