Chapter 100
“Ouch!” Evadne crashed hard against the pillar, a painful grunt escaping her lips. “Thaddeus! What the hell are you doing?”
Thaddeus was fuming, his orip on her wrist tight as if afraid she would run.
Their breaths intermingled, their gazed fiercely entangled.
“You’ve lied to me repeatedly, Hana, do you think anyone wouldn’t get pis sed?” Thaddeus stared at her, his voice so h oa rse it was barely audible.
“What did I lie to you about?” Evadne strugated, her eyes suddenly brimming with tears. “You know nothing about me because you never cared. For the past three years. I would’ve told you anything you asked, but did you ever care?!”
Thaddeus frowned, his heart pounding relentlessly in his chest.
“Do you know what I like to eat? Do you know my hobbies, my favourite songs, my favorite places? I’m your wife. I know everything about you, but you know nothing about me. Now, don’t you think you’re a joke? Isn’t all this your own doing?!”
Evadine’s eyes were like daggers, piercing into Thaddeus’s, ripping apart his cold facade.
“Thaddeus, I’ve been like a dusty book on your shelf for the past three years. Every day, I hoped you’d pick me up. Even if it were just a glance, I would’ve told you everything. But I waited three years, and all I got was your abandonment.”
Thaddeus’s eyelashes trembled, his handsome face drained of colour, his heart aching as if being clenched.
Yes, he had abandoned her.
He still remembered how helpless and heartbroken she was when he forced her to sign the divorce agreement.
She was so reluctant at first. Why can she laugh now?!
“Luckily, your indifference drove me from disappointment to despair. I have no more expectations and no more desire to share anything with you. Now, I have absolutely no interest in you.”
Evadne’s eyes were bloodshot, but her smile was still captivating.
Thaddeus felt as if he had been hit in his most vulnerable spot, the pain spreading rapidly throughout his body.
“Ilana, have you really let me go? Are you lying to yourself?”
“Lying to myself? Sorry, I don’t have that kind of time!”
“Do you really like Cas sius?” Thaddeus blurted out.
“Absolutely!” Evadne said without hesitation.
“No, you don’t like Cas sius, and you’re just with him to get back at me, to make me mad about our divorce!”
Thaddeus took a deep breath, leaning closer to her beautiful face, their noses brushing unintentionally.

Evadne quickly averted her eyes, trying to escape his heated breath.
“You’re delusional! Go see a doctor and stop bothering me!”
But Thaddeus grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him.
“Ilana, do you hate me that much? You’d rather be with someone you don’t love just to hurt me?”
“Hurt you? I’m pretty da mn pleased.” Evadne smirked, her lips curving enticingly. “I’m happy every day being with Cas sius. With you, it felt like a prison sentence. Do you think you’re worth my revenge? To get back at you, I feel like I’m lowering my standards and wasting my time!”
“You’re shameless, so vain! Why didn’t I see your true colours sooner?” Thaddeus gritted his teeth, his heart aching. “Marrying you was the biggest mistake of my life!”
In an instant, Evadne’s pupils contracted, and her body went rigid.
She was his biggest mistake.
She had loved him with all her heart for thirteen years and got nothing in return. Instead, she became a stain on his life.
Evadne, why were you so unlucky? Why were you so pitiful?
Watching her eyes moisten with tears, Thaddeus went pale and quickly let go of her hand.
He realized he had spoken too harshly, too ruthlessly.
He didn’t mean to say those things, but he couldn’t help letting them slip.
If he really meant it, then so be it.
But he was clearly saying one thing and meaning another.
“Mr. Frederic? Ms. Ilana?!”
At this moment, Mr. Murray hurried over and bumped into them.
Evadne quickly moved away from Thaddeus and forced a smile, “Mr. Murray, weren’t you with Mr. Hamiltion in the front hall? What brings you here?”
Mr. Murray sensed the strange atmosphere but didn’t comment. He just anxiously said. “There’s a problem at the birthday party. I need to handle it urgently.”
“What happened?” Evadne asked.
“Mr. Frederic knew that Mr. Hamiltion enjoys music, so he paid a pretty penny to get a famous singer to perform at Mr. Hamiltion’s birthday. But the singer suddenly fell ill, and his apprentice just told me that he’s vomiting, has diarrhea and a fever, he can’t perform!”
Mr. Murray was in a frenzy. “What are we going to do now? The stage was set for the singer’s performance. If he can’t perform, won’t it disappoint Mr. Hamiltion and make us a laughingstock?”
“That won’t happen.” Evadne frowned, but then she smiled confidently, “Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, nobody will laugh at us.”
Thaddeus was taken aback and deeply touched.

Chapter 100
Even though they were no longer husband and wife, when the Abernathy family faced a problem, she still stepped up just like before, ready to solve it.
All for Mr. Hamiltion to have a birthday without regrets.
Hearing her words, Mr. Murray’s face lit up. “You have a solution?”
“Mr. Murray, where can I find the backstage? Can you show me the way?”
After finishing her words, Evadne left Thaddeus and quickly went with Mr. Murray.
Watching her gentle figure leaving. Thaddeus felt a sense of loss.
His hand involuntarily clenched into a fist.
Thinking of her rosy eyes, he found it hard to breathe.
The backyard.
Blooming flowers surrounded the stage, and the people below it was full of joy.
Hamiltion enjoyed the hustle and bustle, so he not only invited Glynnis but also invited Cas sius and Jareth to sit beside his table. The table was quickly filled with people.
Only Acacia was arranged to sit in the guest seats.
