However, Jason got a disturbing piece of news from his agent today: Ada had decided to attend the welcome party hosted by the Abernathy Group at
the last minute!

When Jason fumed to Evadne about this, she was leisurely playing pool with Aaron.
They were taking turns, sinking balls into pockets like it was a competition…
“Ms. Evadne! We’re screwed!” Jason blurted out in a rush.
“Shush, it’s match point!”
Evadne lifted one slender finger to her lips, signaling him to keep his volume down.
This game determined the dinner for the night. It was a big deal, and there was no room for sloppiness!

“Ms. Evadne, Ada has finally decided to attend the welcome party hosted by the Abernathy Group! She stood us up!” Jason said, dry-mouthed.
Evadne took a sip of her red wine, “Hmm, good.”
“Good? Thaddeus stole our guest, and you think it’s good?” Jason’s clear eyes widened in shock.
“Let me guess. I’m sure that in the next three days, the Abernathy Group will send invitations to all the important people, and they will heavily promote this event. After all, this is the first time an international superstar is coming to Elmsworth, and they choose to stay at the Abernathy Hotel. It’s like a free advertisement.
