When Thaddeus was discharged from the hospital, the backlog of work that had piled up during his hospital stay kept him busy for three straight days and nights. These days, his health had been fluctuating. He was surviving on medications and the IV drips Evadne had given him, hoping and praying for a swift recovery. Thaddeus reluctantly picked up the medicine and the water bottle. Gordon nodded in approval, a wry smile formed on his lips.

He felt a pang of regret thinking about how obedient Thaddeus has been recently. If only he had been this obedient three years ago, he and Mrs. Abernathy might have already had given birth to a bunch of children.
