She felt like she was losing her mind, “Calub, they are lying.”

Her voice rose, she made an effort to convince him, but his eyes told her there was no hope. She faced Sofia, pointing her finger at her, tears brimming in Clare’s eyes, “I’m going to find out the truth, all of it.”

This was too much. Just when she thought her life couldn’t get any worse. Just when she thought she had seen the light. When she felt a breath easier than it had been, she felt worse. Clare pushed Sofia away.

Sofia fell on the table, and remained there, shocked as Clare quickened to the door.
