I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 419

Mauve found herself in a state of distress. She had gone out with everyone else, but her classmates and professor were no longer alive. No matter what, she still had to give their families an explanation.

Simon contemplated for a while. Considering Mauve's current situation, he said, “Pass me your phone. I'll take some pictures for you and leave a mark. You must convey the gravity of this situation clearly to the police later.”

Mauve hastily asked, “Simon, will you stay with me? You can act as a witness too.”

Simon replied, “No.”

Mauve was in no mood to plead with Simon either. Her eyes dimmed.

Looking at how demoralized she was, Simon explained, “It's not that I'm unwilling to help you. I have a bad temper. If they annoy me with their questions, I might just kill them. It's best for me to disappear.”

He wasn't kidding about that.

However, he quickly reassured her, “Don't worry about getting into trouble. I'll ask a friend to help you out. This won't cause you any problems.” He was thinking of Mabel.

Since Mauve was a victim in this situation and she had no motive for killing anyone, it should be easy to resolve.

Although Mauve's mind was a mess, Simon's words provided her with some comfort. She felt slightly relieved.

Afterward, Simon took a few pictures and left behind some marks.

He asked Mauve, “Can we go now? We need to get out of here as soon as possible.”

Mauve nodded, tears welling up in her eyes.

They continued with their journey. However, Mauve, who was quite weak, struggled to keep up. As she was too slow, Simon offered, “I'll carry you.”

Mauve was indeed tired, but she felt a little embarrassed.

Simon crouched down and said, “Hop on.”

Mauve gritted her teeth before climbing onto his back.

Given Simon's speed, they arrived at the previous tavern at seven in the evening.

Lights illuminated the tavern, enveloping it in a warm glow that made it look like a warm sanctuary in the middle of the forest.

Together, they made their way toward the tavern.

Just as they reached the entrance, Mauve suddenly heard a loud thud beside her. Startled, she turned her head and saw Simon unconscious on the ground.

Mauve's face turned pale with shock. She squatted down and said anxiously, “Simon, what's wrong with you? Don't scare me like this!” Tears welled up in her eyes.

All Simon could feel was the world spinning around him. Finally, he realized what had happened. After he sucked the poison from Mauve, some still remained in his mouth.

The remnants of the poison had entered his body through his saliva.

For some inexplicable reason, the poison managed to birth a strange parasite in his body.

Although the parasite was still being nurtured, its toxins had already infiltrated Simon's organs.

Having carried Mauve all the way there, Simon had unintentionally hastened the effects of the poison.

At that moment, the toxins acted up, causing his head to spin, and he collapsed onto the floor.

He shook his head, fighting to regain his clarity. Yet, since his body was immensely powerful, he could quickly suppress the toxins.

He sat up abruptly.

Mauve couldn't help but rejoice. “Simon, are you all right?”

“I'm fine.” Simon did not want her to worry.

Mauve heaved a sigh of relief. “You must be exhausted. Let me help you inside.”

Simon stood up and pulled his arm away. He said placidly, “I can walk on my own.”

Mauve had understood Simon's personality by then, so she was not angry.

The two of them entered the tavern through the wide open door. The staff and the owner were delighted to see guests.

Mauve turned to the owner and asked, “My friend is exhausted from the journey. Is there a room for us to rest in?”

“Certainly,” replied the owner. When she glanced at Simon, her expression suddenly changed. “You've been poisoned by a golden silkworm?”

Mildly surprised, Simon shot the owner a curious look and asked, “You're familiar with this poison?”

The owner's demeanor suddenly changed, making her seem like a mysterious expert. “Not only do I know that it's the golden silkworm poison, but I also know that you must have fallen victim to it when saving this young girl beside you. With your skills, no poison in Marlington should be able to harm you. After you sucked out the poison for her, it is now being nurtured within your body. The stronger your cultivation, the more potent the golden silkworm poison becomes.”

Mauve was stunned by the owner's words. She finally realized that Simon had been poisoned to save her, yet he had never mentioned it during their entire journey.

She had even made him carry her for such a long time.

Mauve's eyes immediately reddened. Tears streamed down her face as she anxiously asked the owner, “What will happen to my friend? Will he be okay?”

The owner let out a cold laugh and replied, “Within three days, the poison will attack his heart. Death is certain for him.”

Mauve's body trembled violently.

Simon glanced at the owner, then at Mauve, complicated emotions brewing within him.

He found this whole situation absurd.

He had always minded his own business. Yet, his first time meddling in someone else's affair had ended up costing him his life.

How ironic!

Mauve grabbed the owner's hand and pleaded, “You must have a way to save my friend's life, right? I'm begging you.” Her voice was filled with desperation.
