I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 553 Joyful Reunion

Yeverie had been waiting in Jonathan's bedroom for some time, but he did not show up. Finding it strange, she subsequently left.

Yeverie found two female guards and asked them, “Where is His Majesty?”

“His Majesty received a call from someone named Catherine, and he left in a hurry,” the guard replied.

Yeverie shuddered. She remembered Jonathan mentioning that he had a wife named Catherine.

At that moment, Yeverie could not suppress the searing heartache that surged within her. All along, she had been avoiding this issue, but the reality was brutally harsh.

In reality, I amount to nothing at all. I don't even have the right to feel heartbroken, angry, or jealous. That's what truly hurts the most!

At that moment, Jonathan had completely forgotten about Yeverie and everybody else. In his eyes and his heart, there was only Catherine.

Jonathan was not exactly a bad person, but he certainly did not fit the traditional definition of a good one either. To put it nicely, he was very straightforward. Bluntly, however, he was rather heartless.

He had a soft spot for every beautiful woman, yet he can be incredibly heartless.

He charmed them with sweet words and tender affections, but he can also detach himself completely in the blink of an eye without so much as a trace of longing for them.

The women like Amber, Jessica, and Rhiannon still harbored feelings of longing and inner ripples of unrest for him. However, thoughts of them rarely flickered in Jonathan's heart.

That was how ruthless Jonathan can be.

At three in the afternoon in Lostaria, Jonathan and his group overcame the jet lag and finally touched down.

Jonathan never pondered the question as to why the Divine Emperor would suddenly descend upon the Divine Realm.

At that moment, Catherine was all he cared about.

The private jet landed at Lostaria International Airport.

Catherine was already there to pick Jonathan up in her car when he stepped out of the airport. She was driving a fiery red Ferrari.

As Jonathan and his companions exited the airport, they immediately spotted Catherine standing beside a Ferrari under the blinding sun. She was dressed in a white shirt and jeans, and her long hair cascaded over her shoulders.

It was a lovely sight of luxury cars and beautiful women.

Though Catherine's attire was simple and elegant, her innate beauty complemented it so perfectly that anyone who so much as glanced at her would exclaim in awe and proclaimed her a fairy-like beauty.

Catherine immediately drew the attention of countless people around her just by standing there, causing them to stop and gape. Some could not even resist taking photos.

However, no one dared approach, possibly because the sight of the Ferrari and such beauty was intimidating enough to make any ordinary person reconsider.

Jonathan finally met Catherine in the flesh.

He strode forward. Usually aloof, Catherine finally revealed a hint of a smile at the corner of her mouth.

Jonathan marched briskly up to Catherine with his gaze fixed on her. Catherine returned his gaze.

Though it had only been a few months, everything had changed beyond recognition for Jonathan.

Thus, he pulled her tightly into his embrace and held her as if he feared she would vanish the moment he loosened his grip.

Catherine sensed Jonathan's anxiety. She understood his love for her. At that moment, feeling an unusual sense of fulfillment herself, she, too, held him tightly.

The hearts of the spectating crowd standing by shattered at that moment. So, the goddess is already taken.

“I'm sorry. I'm so sorry,” Jonathan whispered softly into Catherine's ear.

That incident had forever cast a shadow over Jonathan's psyche. As long as Ignatius remained alive, this shadow would never be dispelled.

Catherine understood Jonathan's intentions all too well. Remaining silent, she patted Jonathan on the back to tell him wordlessly that all was well.

After a long while, Jonathan remembered that Beatrix and Mabel were still behind him.

He pulled apart from Catherine, then turned his gaze toward Beatrix and Mabel somewhat sheepishly.

Beatrix and Mabel simply shared a gentle smile. They could understand Jonathan's emotions and were touched by the affection between the two.

However, Jonathan soon found himself in an awkward situation: Catherine was driving a Ferrari, and a Ferrari can only seat two people.

Catherine was not one to consider other people.

“Beatrix, Mabel, please take this car and head back,” Jonathan suggested.

Catherine's eyebrows furrowed slightly, but she did not say anything.

As reluctant as she was, she had to obey Jonathan.

Mabel and Beatrix were tacit enough. They laughed. “We can just take a taxi. You and Catherine have much to catch up on. Don't worry about us.”

Jonathan did not say another word. He turned to Mabel. “Please explain things to Lailah for me.”

What he actually meant was that he wanted Mabel to explain Catherine's rudeness.

After all, Mabel knows what Catherine is like.

“Don't worry,” assured Mabel.

Then, Jonathan and Catherine departed by car, with Jonathan at the wheel.

Indeed, mastering diplomacy is an art in itself.

However, that was for normal people. Catherine had always been cold and aloof, so she was an exceptional case.

After Jonathan left, Mabel turned to Beatrix. “Catherine has always been different from others. She is blunt with everybody, including Yareth, who raised her.” She paused, then added, “However, Catherine's attitude toward Jonathan is an exception. I suppose Jonathan must have given a lot for Catherine.”

Beatrix gave a light smile. “Don't worry, I don't mind. That's who she is. Perfectly understandable. Even if she isn't like this, I still wouldn't mind considering how much you and Jonathan love her.” She paused for a moment to chuckle, then went on, “Jonathan has always been a ladies' man, and has rarely cared so much about a woman. Catherine is indeed special to him.”

“Exactly!” Mabel concurred with another laugh before adding, “That's how I know very well that one could only have a platonic relationship with Jonathan. There could never be anything slightly romantic, or any woman who falls for him will only be asking for trouble.”

Beatrix laughed heartily. “There aren't many women who can think as clearly and wisely as you do. This fellow is destined to be a womanizer as he loves to flirt around. What a detestable guy.”

“Let's drop this. I can't go to the Divine Realm with you anyway,” said Mabel. “Come with me to book the flight and hotel, then you can return to the Divine Realm.”

“Great!” Beatrix said before adding, “Don't be in such a rush to leave today. I want to take you around Lostaria for a couple of days after I meet Master. How does that sound?”

Mabel declined. “There is still much to attend to back home. We'll have plenty of opportunities to meet again in the future. Let's do it another time!”

Seeing Mabel's firm intention to leave, Beatrix did not force her. “All right, then!”

Meanwhile, Jonathan drove off with Catherine back to the Divine Realm. He did not say much throughout the journey. He drove with one hand with the other never letting go of Catherine's soft hand.

After a good while, Catherine suddenly asked, “What have you been busy with lately?”

Jonathan gave an enigmatic smile. “It's a bit complicated and somewhat magical. How about I explain it to you in detail tonight?”

Though Catherine was just asking casually, she nodded her agreement. “All right!”

The journey seemed particularly short for Jonathan as they arrived at the Divine Realm surprisingly quickly.

As Jonathan and Catherine were both members of the Divine Realm, they passed through without any hindrance.

At present, Jonathan had attained the third level of the Immortal Stage and was fully qualified to be promoted to the rank of master given the level of his cultivation.

However, there was still the formality of asking for it from Richard.

With regards to Catherine, however, Jonathan was no longer sure about her current level of cultivation.
