Chapter 20 You Are So Cheap
As Amelia kneeled, Kayla laughed with delight, while Paul frowned and the others looked on as if they were watching a show. And Kevin didn’t look worried or anything.
Only James, leaning against the sofa, looked down at her like a king with the power to k ill.
Amelia couldn’t help but think of the hundreds of days and nights they had spent together, but suddenly it all felt like it wasn’t worth it.
She thought she could leave with dignity, but she had to let go of her pride and please him.

Perhaps this was the cru el reality of their different social statuses. She had slept with him for five years and was destined to be trampled under his feet.
However, Amelia knew that she was about to leave this world and that there were only a few months left to endure. With this thought, she found a sense of calm. She knelt down, poured the wine, and handed the glass to James.
James stretched out his slender fingers and took the wine glass.
Just as Amelia thought he would drink it, he raised the glass and slowly poured the red wine over her head. As it slid down the tip of her hair, it stained her pale face, thin neck, and long dress.
She looked down at the wine slowly dripping onto her hand, then lifted her eyes in disbelief to see James, who regarded her with icy contempt.
“You are so cheap.”
His voice was so cold that it made Amelia shiver uncontrollably.
