Chapter 28 He Was the Man She Had Loved for Five Years
Amelia gave a wry smile and said, “It seems like I misunderstood. However…”
She paused momentarily and then said, “I asked you before if I could have a boyfriend, and you said it was up to me. Since I have a boyfriend, it’s normal for me and him to have se x. Mr. Evans, don’t you think?”
James was stunned, and his cold and emotionless face became even darker.
Seeing that he was speechless, Amelia suddenly plucked up her courage and touched his eyebrows.
She touched his face, with a hint of caution in her movements.
He was the man she had loved for five years. How could she bear to hurt him like this?

But he didn’t love her, not even a tiny bit of like. Why couldn’t she let go?
Amelia looked at him in a daze, but he grabbed her wrist.
“Don’t touch me!” he growled.
He spat out a word coldly, “Dir ty!”
She knew he would react in this way, but hearing him say she was dir ty again made her heart ache fiercely.
Gritting her teeth, she suppressed her emotions and looked at the hand holding her tightly.


“Mr. Evans, if you ha te me this much, why don’t you let go of me? Or you don’t want to let go?”
She smiled brightly, her face full of indifference as if her previous obedience and compliance were all acting. Now, she was the most authentic version of herself.
James seemed to have seen her through. The killing intent in his
faded away and was replaced by indifference.
