In order to prevent Amelia from taking her own life, Aaron had someone bring a chain and bind her hands and feet to the bed.
The woman lying on the bed said nothing, showing no signs of vigor. She simply looked out the window at the sea.

draw?”
The woman on the bed still had no response, as if she couldn’t
hear anything he said.
For the past few days, she had been like a dead person, except for
talking to George once or twice.
Aaron looked at Amelia, impatience all over his face.
He grabbed her cheeks and pried open her mouth, then picked up

porridge and coughed violently, spilling it all over Aaron’s fair back of his hand. He stared at the porridge on his

furrowing deeper and deeper, but he suppressed his anger and
took out a tissue to wipe her mouth clean.
