When Rex arrives, Lily just finished the first intravenous drip, and a nurse is replacing it with another one.

Lily is still asleep, with only Abby by her side waiting. It's very crowded in the emergency ward, so not a single vacancy is available.

Rex’s eyes lay on Lily’s pale little face. He feels like his legs were filled with lead, and even though he wants to walk to her, he can’t move his legs.

“Nurse, when will she wake up?” Abby is so concerned that she asks every now and then.
